Who Am I?
My name is Gail Leichty and I am a “kind-of” retired accounting professional. I love accounting! But after a life-long career performing almost every aspect of accounting and management, I took an early retirement to travel America with my husband, our dog and two cats. Although no longer committed to a full-time accounting position in “corporate America”, I have kept involved with accounting in a number of ways. I spent the summers fulfilling a number of contractual assignments, teaching various college-level accounting courses as an adjunct professor and obtaining my QuickBooks certifications in Desktop, Online, Online Advanced and Enterprise.
After watching my daughter open and develop her own bakery, I find myself increasingly drawn toward the support of smaller individually-owned businesses. I have found that many small business owners are passionate and highly-skilled regarding their chosen field, whether that is baking, photography, automotive, resale or virtually any other locally-owned business. However, I also find that many of these hard-working, committed business owners are truly challenged by the requirements of maintaining their accounting records. I believe that my years of experience in accounting, my in-depth knowledge of QuickBooks and my admiration of the individuals who take the risk of opening their own businesses combine to make me someone who can really help people with their accounting needs.
Speaking of my daughter: I have recently moved to the Greenville SC to be closer to my daughter and her family, plus (let's be honest!) to get away from the Michigan winters. That positions me to provide hands-on, face-to-face services to small businesses in the "upstate" South Carolina vicinity. However, thanks to the beauty of today's technology, I am not limited at all by geographic considerations. With QB Online, I can access and support your books from anywhere (even if I'm sitting in a chaise lounge at my favorite campsite). And QB Desktop files can easily be shared via cloud based storage sites and remote access.
I have worked in a number of industries during my life, primarily in the banking industry, but also in retail, non-profit, construction, manufacturing and education. I was fortunate enough to have jobs that gave me great satisfaction and great opportunities to learn and grow. I worked with many different accounting systems over the years, but have found that QuickBooks is generally the perfect choice for virtually all small businesses. I love helping people grasp the concepts of basic accounting, teaching them simple workflow procedures to deal with their daily business transactions and then providing support as needed for the more advanced tasks necessary to maintain their financial records. I believe myself to be kind, helpful and never judgmental or condescending to the businesspeople that I partner with. I am confident I can provide a valuable service to small business owners and help them achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams. Let’s talk!
